If only God knew what they were doing to you
He'd hang his head in shame
If the angels could see how you were being treated
They would lend you their wings to fly away
I'm no God, I'm not an angel, but I know what you're going through
And each night as I drift asleep, I wish I could be there to protect you.
On the nights when you're alone, you beg me for your help
But my words can only go so far
I wish there was a way for me to help
But sometimes you have to do things on your own
It takes a strong person to fight their own war
And if you need a little help with the battle, I'll be there to protect you.
You don't deserve to feel pain from someone else's pleasure
That's not how life was intended to be
I know what it feels like to be mistreated by people who think they're better than you
Because what's happening to you has happened to me
And as hard as it may seem, you have to look out for and help yourself
It's what's best, and someday you'll be able to help someone to same way I protect you.
